7.5 Million People Engaged in Underground Employment

At the moment, and in light of the growing demands for employment and the lack of availability of jobs in Iran, between six and 7.6 million Iranians are engaged in peddling and unofficial jobs such as street vending activities. Growing unemployment in Iran and the lack of available jobs have led many young people to unofficial and pseudo-employments. Unfortunately, peddling activities and working as street vendors cannot be considered solutions for the country’s employment problems.
